The Jamie Fund - Making things happen for young people
Jamie was not a boy for fancy memorials. He liked tools and stuff that "did something". |
| In July 2003 we set up The Jamie Fund to remember him in his sort of way. Since then over £5000 has been collected from donations and fund-raising events towards the aim of improving facilities for young people in and around Jamie's home village. | Carr-Bridge is in the Highlands of Scotland, 7 miles north of the ski centre of Aviemore and 25 miles south of Inverness (map). Jamie had just completed his final year at Carr-Bridge Primary School and was looking forward to going to Grantown Grammar School with his classmates from P7 after the summer holidays. |
Jamie would have wanted to leave behind something that would be of lasting benefit to the friends that he grew up with and the young people who will follow on in years to come.
J Our big Jamie Weekend honoured a brave hero and raised £2300 for The Jamie Fund. |
