In a move of unexpected and quite astounding generosity, US radio group Minds Ear Audio Productions has announced this week that ALL profits from the sale of their latest release The Valhalla Triangle will be donated to The Jamie Fund.
In 2002 The Valhalla Triangle, a radio comedy series in six 30-minute episodes written by David Gasking, was awarded the Grand Prize in the Minds Ear Audio Productions' Annual International Script Writing Competition. As a consequence of this, the series has been recorded as a full cast dramatisation, which has now been released for sale as 3-CD set.
The decision of Minds Ear has been made in recognition of the key part that Jamie and his older brother played in the initial plot development and writing of the series, including acting as the first critical audience for a full reading aloud of the entire script prior to submission.
The Valhalla Triangle is an oddball comedy which begins with the eruption of a new volcano off the coast of Norway allowing the escape of the Norse Gods Odin, Freya and Thor from centuries of captivity in an enchanted underground cavern. The story then goes to deal with the various efforts of the immortal trio to re-establish world supremacy, assisted by two intrepid Scottish vulcanologists.
The very first copy of The Valhalla Triangle in the UK has arrived in Carr-Bridge on this day.
